Yesterday, a report said that Google translator was translating “Suresh Raina is God” in Serbian to “Sachin Tendulkar is God” in English. This technical glitch was rectified when the it spread like a wild fire on Twitter trends and Facebook.

Why is Facebook so Blue?

The answer is that Mark Zuckerburg is color-blind. The founder and CEO of Facebook is red-green color-blind and blue is the best color which he can see. He admitted to this in an interview with Leo Laporte few years back.

It also know that it is Facebook’s well planned marketing plan. Most colors tend to distract the viewers on the web. Blue on the other hand acts as a transparent background to the main content as visible to the human brain and thus making it the most popularly used color on the internet.

I wondered why the Gmail team still hasn’t thought of sending mails in background? Whenever you compose a mail and send it, you need to wait for a couple of seconds so that Gmail sends accross your mail. But you’d need to wait much longer if you had any attachments along with your mails which is in MBs. Every time I hit the “Send” button, I wondered, why do I need to wait? Why can’t the ‘sending process’ run in the background? And so here it is, finally, now you can send emails with no waiting business!

With this you can send emails in background and continue checking with your other emails, compose or even chat with friends. Whats more? Gmail has an incredible feature which provides the ability to preview emails to get a peep on what they contain and allow you to take immediate action without opening them. The feature lets  your preview messages in your inbox with a right-click.

To activate this feature in your Gmail or Google Apps for Gmail account, hit the Labs icon, search for “Message Sneak Peek” and select “Enable.” Once done, you can view emails with just a right-click. However, the feature does not work in “spam” folder though it supports Trash.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts for a faster sneak-peeking flow. For that you first need to enable keyboard shortcuts in Settings in case if you haven’t done it. You need to press the ‘h’ key to open a sneak peek card, navigate with ‘j’ and ‘k,’ and close the current opened mail by pressing “Escape”. Messages you peek at will stay unread.
