Webpage Screenshot is an extension for Google Chrome that captures full webpage screenshot with a click and allows you to crop, draw and add text to it. All of this can be done within the browser itself. The extension saves the screenshot in PNG/JPG format.

Once you’ve installed this extension you will see a camera icon at the top-right corner (at the end of the address bar). If you’re using RockMelt, then you’ll see it’ll be second option in the App Edge

Click on the camera button and you’ll get two options in a drop down -

1. Visible Screenshot – Takes the screenshot of the visible page only.
2. All Page Screenshot – Takes the screenshot of the entire webpage.

After you’ve selected the desired option, a new tab will open with editing options.

Once you’re done editing, you can either Save, Share or Print the screenshot.

Spokeo is a search engine specialized in aggregating and organizing vast quantities of people-related information from a large variety of public sources. The public data is amassed with lightning speed, and presented almost instantly in an integrated, coherent, and easy-to-follow format.

Spokeo grabs all your information and can be viewed on its website. It includes your address, phone numbers, facebook pictures, income, home prices, all without your permission. Its total invasion of privacy!

All data collected by Spokeo is publicly accessible from its original sources. According to the site, Spokeo does not originate data and information available is only as good as its source. The information available originates from information people provide that becomes public information “even if a person isn’t on Facebook or Twitter.”

You can stop remove your listing from Spokeo and block Spokeo from displaying your details, though it will not be removed from its original sources. Visit this page to block/remove your listing from Spokeo.

To prevent such websites from accessing your data, the best to do is refrain from providing your personal details or adjust your privacy settings of your profile.

Tumblr is back on is track after an unexpected 24hours downtime. The site isn’t fully functional and seems to be picking up gradually. Only limited users are able to update / add content to their Tumblr site.

David Karp, founder of Tumblr said,

Some scheduled maintenance yesterday that wasn’t intended to interrupt service went haywire and wound up taking down a critical database cluster. Rebuilding the entire cluster has been a painfully slow and manual process, but we’re almost through. We’ll be posting a recap when we’re back up.

The most awaited and much craved feature by mobile users, Twitter – a microblogging has now finally added the instant notification for mentions to your username in iPhone and iPad apps, as well as via SMS

Whenever someone @mentions you with your username, you’ll be notified by an SMS and if you’re an iPhone and iPad user, your Twitter apps will open up with a push notification. According to Twitter, “Notifications for @mentions will initially be available on SMS and on the latest version of Twitter for iPhone, which you can download today from the App Store”

To use this service, you need to enable this feature. To enable it, go to your twitter.com/devices and check the boxes under “Text message notifications”. You can set or change or disable the settings anytime you want.

Enabling the “Only from people I follow” option will notify you only when someone from whom you follow mentions your username.

Friends on Flickr asked me how I did this. So I thought let me share it by posting a tutorial here. This is my first tutorial that I’m writing. So please bare with my teaching

I’ve used keyboard shortcuts here to make the process faster.

Step 1: Open the image you want to work on. In this tutorial I’ll be using the image below.

Crop the image if you would like to…

Step 2: Desaturate the image. Press Ctrl+Shift+U to do so…

Now create a new layer by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N and change the blending mode of Layer 1 to Color. (Important Step!)

Select Color from the drop down menu. See below.

Step 3: Now select the Brush tool (press B) and set it’s hardness to 3% or below that.

Step 4: Now, select colors from the Swatches palette (Window>Swatches) and start painting on the part you would like to. You gotta zoom in to paint it perfectly.

This process could be time consuming but you can color it perfectly if you have patience and time.

An alternative to that is, select Polygonal Lasso Tool (L) and select the area you want to paint. Check the screen shot below.

Start coloring/painting after the selection is done. The results obtained can be seen below.

Step 5: Continue the process until your finally done with the painting. Save it.

If you want to continue playing with the colors then open Hue/Saturation by pressing Ctrl+U and start playing with Hue You’ll end up with some cool colors

Step 6: Your done! Save it, close Photoshop and get back to work

Twitter is a place to have fun, stay updated and connect with friends of friends. Growing your network on Twitter now is becoming a little tougher than earlier. All thanks to bots and spammer You know, they are the spoilsports found everywhere.

Anyways, I found something interesting on Jerod Santo’s blog. A way to expand you Twitter network with Ruby. This Ruby (program) generates a list of people highly followed by our friends.

The Flow

1. Fetch the ids of all the people you follow
2. Use those ids to fetch the ids of all the people they follow
3. Remove any ids in both groups
4. Tally the occurrences of each unique id in the list
5. Sort them by most occurrences
6. Iterate the top 10 and print the user information
